There is no crisis!

When I tell people that I opened a women's renewal center so that women would have a place to go when it's time to rethink, renew, and reinvent themselves, I can usually count on having to answer the same question. "What kind of women go there?" And when I hesitate to answer, the never-ending list of labels begins to emerge. Are they abused women? Alcohol or drug-addicted women? Poor women perhaps? Finally I explain that they are simply women. No titles, no labels, and NO CRISIS.

While the idea of women gathering not to overcome something but to co-create something is not new, it has perhaps been forgotten. Do we really need to wait for a crisis before we take care of ourselves? For some the answer is yes and that’s ok. But for many other’s, especially in Toledo, Ohio there is another option. There is a place called Elizabeth’s House that has been created for your consideration. If you are willing to let go of the distractions or perceived crisis, just for a little while, you may discover something about yourself that will surprise and delight. I am watching women remember that underneath it all they are artists, healers, motivators, entertainers, and writers to name a few. Given the time and space to explore new possibilities the distractions begin to subside. Life begins to have meaning. We begin to choose differently. We get clear about what we want and we ask for it. We feel good about asking because we have eliminated the main reason we can’t. There really is no crisis.
